Superlative Walks

Urban trails, each with something very special

Dove Stone

The Dove Stone walk starts and finishes in the car park below the dam at Dove Stone Reservoir near Green field in Saddleworth, Oldham, Greater Manchester.  The path follows a road at the head of the reservoir then up a farm track before crossing fields, woodlands and a hillside before joining a series of paths down to and around Dove Stone and its adjoining reservoirs. Whilst most of the paths are well-surfaced and drained, some stretches – notably the early hillside paths and then those along the side of Yeoman Hey are rough, bouldered and in places can be muddy
