Superlative Walks

Urban trails, each with something very special

Liverpool

Introduction

Liverpool has a special place in British history, as a seaport and industrial city which, in the twentieth century, became a cultural and commercial centre. This walk, the very first Superlative Walk, takes in all the major buildings and sites in Liverpool’s City Centre, starting and finishing near the River Mersey, in the regenerated docklands and taking a route past grand historic buildings, the venue where the Beatles sprang to fame, the two cathedrals and colourful streets.
